We understand that choosing a newborn photographer can feel intimidating. There are many things to consider before trusting someone with your brand new baby. Elanna has been trained by some of the best newborn photographers from around the world on both newborn safety and posing techniques. Newborn sessions take place in Elanna’s cozy home studio in the Roxborough neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA. Her studio has been carefully stocked with the best newborn products and accessories, so you don’t have to worry about bringing any clothing or props along.

Newborn portraiture is best done within the first two weeks of your baby’s life to ensure safe posing and a sleepy baby. It is important that you contact us BEFORE your baby arrives to be sure you get a spot on Elanna’s calendar. Elanna only takes a small number of newborn sessions per month to be sure she can adjust for changing birth dates.

All sessions include a pre-session phone/email consultation, the time and talent of your photographer, and artistic editing of your final chosen images. All of your edited images will be uploaded to a secure password-protected soft proofing gallery within 2 weeks after your session, for ordering. Once you have chosen your final images/artwork, Elanna will fully edit your final choices and you will receive those within another 2 weeks.

*Please Note: No RAW/Soft Proof images will ever be available for client to keep. Each package has an allotted amount of fully edited images and extra fully edited images can always be purchased.

What to expect

Connect with Elanna via phone or email to chat about the session process and to see if you’d be a good fit for each other.
You will fill out our Newborn Questionnaire to help us get a better understanding of your session style and preferences. Elanna strives to provide a personalized and unique approach to each of her sessions so that your art is curated to your family’s style.
Baby is born! You will email Elanna after the birth of your baby with the name, the birth weight & height, and if there were any birth complications. A photo of baby will help Elanna learn your baby’s complexion to pair colors. Your photo session will typically take place within two weeks of baby’s birth.
Within 2 weeks following your newborn session, you will receive a password protected proofing gallery complete with your soft edited images for selection. Once you have chosen your final images/artwork, Elanna will fully edit your final choices and you will receive those within another 2 weeks.
